Last chance for by-election questions at church

Transforming Norwich will be giving local electors the very last chance to hear the final words of candidates in the high-profile Norwich North by-election by holding a public hustings on Wednesday July 22, the eve of the poll on Thursday July 23.
The event, to be held at Norwich Central Baptist Church on Duke Street, NR3 3AP, will be chaired by Anglican Diocesan Communications Director, Jan McFarlane. All the main political parties have been invited including the Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrat, Green and UKIP candidates.
They will all be given the opportunity to give a short speech to the audience and then take questions, for the final time before polls open the next morning.
Transforming Norwich development officer, John Betts, who has organised the event, said: “In the present climate it is vital that Christians exercise the responsibility to vote and to influence the direction of the nation. “In view of important local issues at stake in this election Christians, and others, should seize this opportunity to raise their voice and affect decisions that are made in Westminster.”
No tickets are required for the event, which starts at 7.30pm.
